Featuring the creations of Jill Watson
Growing up in the woods of the Pacific Northwest, I feel like I won the lottery. The giant firs, the ferns taller than most humans, the wildlife.... I am drawn to all of it. The understory, though, intrigues me most. The mosses, the fungus, the molds, the intricate systems of communication that enables the birth, death, and rebirth of the giant flora and fauna built atop the soil, all of the silent, meticulous, essential work that happens beneath us, so often goes unnoticed. In my art, I aim to preserve and demonstrate the power of nature, the delicate beauty, and the important roles each of us plays in the cycle of life.
My work has been widely published in magazines, books, and book covers, and shown in galleries in Seattle, the Snoqualmie Valley, New York City.
Most work is for sale or will be soon, just ask.
Commissions are open.
Some options: bridal bouquet preservation, memorial (ash) jewelry or sculpture, trinket trays, coasters, trivets, cheese boards, wall hangings, book ends, etc. I'll work with you to make something you'll enjoy for years to come.
